Stroke Correction / Squad Training
Our Level 2 swim classes are designed for children aged 6 to 12 who are ready to advance their swimming skills. These sessions focus on refining stroke techniques and introducing more complex swimming elements.

Advanced Techniques
Depending on their starting age, most children in this group are waterborne and ready for advanced stroke correction. Key skills include diving, tumble-turns, finishes, and underwater breath control.
Life Saving Skills
Life Saving Week is a highlight, as we emphasize the importance of swimming as a life-saving skill, not just a recreational activity. Children learn essential techniques for swimming in rivers, dams, and the sea.
Comprehensive Training
We teach Freestyle (Front Crawl), Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly in full, along with survival strokes, floating, treading water, underwater breath control, and object retrieval from the deep end. This comprehensive training fine-tunes strokes, making proficient and faster swimmers.
Stamina and Speed
Our program includes stamina training and sprints, encouraging a healthy competitive spirit while fostering a love for the sport. We avoid "burn-out" by balancing training intensity and enjoyment, recognizing the developmental needs of children under 15.
Enjoyable Training
At Blairgowrie Swim Academy, we believe swimming should be enjoyable. Our approach combines hard work and motivation with varied training to see continuous progress in our swimmers.
Holistic Approach
We cover all aspects of individual strokes, dives, turns, and stamina and speed programs. Children learn FINA rules, basic gala preparation, relays, and squads. We also focus on time control and balancing exercise levels to suit each child's growth and development.
